Crochet Socks- Session 1

Description: Don't let knitters have all of the fun! Take this class and learn that you can crochet socks, too. Linda will show you how to make foundation stitches, crocheted ribbing for the cuff, extended stitches, long single crochets (for a sturdy heel), and she'll help you with all of the shaping necessary to turn a heel and finish off your toes. We'll be making the Easy Does It Socks from the book "Crocheted Socks!"

3 sessions of 2 hours each, cost is $45 plus materials. Meets Mondays, July 12, 19 and 26th from 6-8 PM. Call ahead to sign up.

Prerequisite: Both Intermediate crochet classes or equivalent experience (talk with Linda if unsure). Students should be very comfortable with basic crochet stitches and working in the round.

Supplies: Sock yarn (approx 400 yards,Malabrigo Sock or Kertzer On Your Toes are great choices), "Crocheted Socks: 16 Fun to Stitch Patterns" by Janet Rehfeldt, size D and E crochet hooks (or size to obtain gauge), stitch markers, measuring tape, notepad/pencil
